Delta-10 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
What is Delta-10 THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)?
Delta-10 THC is an isomer, or chemical compound, present in a cannabis plant like hundreds of others. It has very similar chemical and physical properties with Delta-8 and delta-9 THC, yet with slight but significant differences. Unlike its other molecular siblings which are readily available, delta-10 THC is a naturally occurring compound in cannabis plants but in very minute quantities.
Delta 10 THC is a naturally occurring psychoactive cannabinoid found in trace amounts in hemp and cannabis plants. It is valued by consumers for the mental and physical sensations it produces.
Delta 10 THC is less potent than both Delta 9 THC and Delta 8 THC. However, it produces slightly different effects. Consumers often describe the Delta 10 high as headier and energizing than the Delta 8 high. It is often referred to as a sativa version of Delta 8, inspiring more social feelings and euphoric sensations, but with fewer physical effects.
Delta 10 has become a favorite of consumers who are sensitive to the negative side effects of THC, such as headaches and paranoia. It is unclear whether this is due to its lower potency or because of its chemical structure. Regardless, Delta 10 THC has found a niche among users who desire the uplifting and invigorating effects of THC without the foggy mental feelings or anxiety that it can cause.
Delta 10 is an isomer of Delta 9 THC, meaning that features the same elements in a different arrangement. Delta 10’s unique molecular shape causes it to engage with the body’s CB1 and CB2 receptors in a slightly different way, which leads to its distinctive effects.
