What Strains Make Up Purple Gas?
Purple Gas is the product of crossing the strains BaOx and Therapy.
BaOx is a direct descendant of the mighty Hindu Kush, and a strong sativa-dominant hybrid in its own right. Therapy, an indica-dominant hybrid, is known for its powerful body high that can de-stressing feelings in the muscles and release the mind from worry. Together, these two strains give Purple Gas its one-two punch of mind and body effects.
The difference between Purple Gas and its parents lies in its potency and balanced feel. It leans only slightly toward its more populous indica genetics—at first. The Purple Gas high takes a few minutes to kick in, but once it does, it hits with brutal force. It feels like your body just took a big sigh of relief. At the same time, your mind begins to find normal things more entertaining and your appreciation for life’s little pleasure grows.
Like all HHC buds, the high from Purple Gas lasts longer than a THC high. As the journey continues, the euphoric mental effects fade while the relaxing indica sensations continue to grow. You move into a blissful passivity and eventually sleepiness.
Is HHC an isomer of THC?
HHC or hexahydrocannabinol occurs naturally in cannabis and hemp plants. On its own, HHC produces mentally stimulating effects that are very much like those created by THC. However, the two are not the same.
Delta 9 THC, one of the active ingredients found in marijuana, is slightly more powerful than HHC, but it’s also structurally different. Chemically, Delta 9 THC is much more like its isomer Delta 8 THC. Both cannabinoids create effects by working with body’s endocannabinoid system in the same way. They both plug into CB1 and CB2 receptors to create effects that cause physical and mental sensations that we call a high.
But HHC doesn’t do this. While its high is also created by an interaction with the endocannabinoid system, the way it operates is different.
Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC are isomers of each other, meaning that they contain the same chemical formulas but different chemical structures. The difference between them is sort of like the difference between a taco and a burrito. They have all the same ingredients, but arranged a bit differently.
HHC is made from Delta 8 THC but is too chemically different to be an isomer. HHC creates more psychoactive effects, tends not to produce the munchies, and is about 1.5 times stronger.
