Each cannabinoid contains a double bond on its carbon chain. For Delta 8, the double bond is located on the 8th carbon chain, and for Delta 9, the double bond is on the 9th. The double bond is thought to be what creates the sensation of feeling high. While both of these cannabinoids can create a sense of intoxication, Delta 9 THC is much stronger.
