CBG Isolate

Cannabigerol (CBG) Isolate

Are you ready to meet the mother of all cannabinoids? No joke — CBG is literally the molecule that other cannabinoids (such as CBD and THC) derive from. The Hemp Haus is pleased to announce that CBG is now available in a purified and concentrated powder form. Check out this blog post on “Why CBG is the New CBD.”

Until now, CBG concentrates have been difficult to come by. That’s because CBG occurs in mature hemp plants in such low quantities that it is difficult to extract the amount required to make a quality concentrate. Thanks to science, those days are now behind us:  CBG is now available as a plain-flavored isolate.

If you want to learn more about our CBG isolate, we’ll give you a description of what it is, how to use it, and some potential benefits.

CBG Isolate flavors include:

  • Flavorless
  • Gelato
  • Birthday Cake
  • Runtz
  • Zkittlez
  • Northern Lights
  • GG4

What is CBG Isolate?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is referred to as the “mother cannabinoid” because other cannabinoids are derivatives of its acidic form, cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). Once oxidized, CBGA converts into CBD or THC.

While CBG is scarce in more mature plants, younger hemp plants yield a much higher concentration. More recently, certain strains have been engineered for the purpose of yielding high quantities of CBG. Enter the CBG isolate.

CBG isolate is a purified cannabinoid extract with CBG levels that exceed 98%. This version comes in powder form, which makes it easy to combine with other cannabinoid products for a synergistic effect. We will touch more on this below. First, let’s take a look at how CBG works.

How Does CBG Isolate Work?

CBG is processed by the body’s endocannabinoid system. This system regulates a wide range of bodily functions by producing endocannabinoid molecules that bind to cannabinoid receptors throughout the body.

There are two types of cannabinoid receptors:  CB1 (located almost exclusively in the central nervous system) and CB2 (primarily located in the peripheral nervous system). Different effects can occur depending on which receptor an endocannabinoid binds to. CB1 receptors are linked with our perception of pain, whereas CB2 receptors are affiliated with the immune system.

CBG imitates the endocannabinoids naturally produced by our bodies. It is capable of binding to CB1 and CB2 receptors.

Since it is associated with such important bodily processes, anandamide is regarded as essential for regulating the daily functioning of the human body. Unlike THC, CBG is thought to enhance these functions without producing a psychoactive effect.

    How to Use CBG Isolate

This CBG isolate is available as a plain-flavored powder. As such, it can be used in a variety of different ways and with an assortment of products. Odds are you can use it according to your preferences.

    Mix with Tinctures

CBG isolate can be mixed in with existing tinctures. This particular isolate is plain, so it will not interfere with the flavor of the tincture. If you already have a preferred tincture, you can top it off with the right amount of CBG.

    Add to Joints and Bowls

CBG isolate can easily be combined with your favorite flower strain and rolled into a joint or used to top a bowl. Since this powder is our plain flavor, it won’t interfere with any other flavors that may be present.

    Coat With Shatter

Similar to rolling into a joint, CBG can be coated with THC shatter for those who want to combine a psychoactive effect with therapeutic properties.

    Add to Dab Rig

If dabbing is your thing, you can add CBG isolate to your dab rig.

    Custom Tincture

Thought custom tinctures were off the table? Think again. You can make your own CBG tincture with carrier oils like MCT. This allows you to conceive a concoction that is customized to fit your specific needs.

    Topical

If you prefer not to ingest CBG orally, fear not. With the right carrier, CBG can be converted to a topical ointment.

    CBG Isolate Benefits

Using CBG in conjunction with other cannabinoids results in a phenomenon known as the entourage effect. This is where cannabinoids combine and enhance one another’s effectiveness. Depending on the ingredients they are used in conjunction with, the combinations listed above are capable of producing a wide range of synergistic effects.

How is CBG Different from CBD?

While CBG and CBD share many commonalities, they are also very different. In terms of likeness, both CBG and CBD are non-psychoactive cannabinoids. This means they can be ingested without producing a psychoactive effect. However, CBG and CBD differ in the way they interact with the endocannabinoid system.

CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system indirectly and tends to steer clear of cannabinoid receptors, whereas CBG behaves more like THC in that it binds directly to our CB1 and CB2 receptors.

On a more subjective level, many people have reported enjoying the combination of CBG and CBD rather than CBG by itself. That is likely due to the aforementioned entourage effect, where both cannabinoids complement one another’s properties.

    CBG and THC

Like CBG, THC is capable of binding to CB1 and CB2 receptors. This ability is thought to be what makes it so powerful. But not all of its effects are equally desirable for every condition. This is precisely where CBG could prove to be beneficial.

     Is CBG Right for You?

If you are looking to enhance the effects of CBD or reduce the psychoactive effects of THC with some added clarity and energy, then you might find our CBG isolate to be beneficial.

The plain-flavored isolate offered at The Hemp Haus should not interfere with any of the other flavors of your favorite products and may provide a wide range of potential benefits. Give it a try today!
